Britcon recently joined forces with Redcar and Cleveland College, AA Projects, GenNorth, Billinghurst George and Partners, and the South Gare Litter Pickers to support a large-scale beach clean-up at South Gare Beach in Teesside.
With around 30 volunteers taking part, the initiative was a fantastic example of collaboration between local businesses, education providers, and community groups, all working together to protect and preserve the local environment.
Throughout the day, volunteers tackled a wide range of waste, including:
- Fly-tipped concrete from access roads
- Discarded tyres
- Large plastic and timber debris
- Several bags of general litter collected from the beach and surrounding areas
The event was not only a great opportunity to make a visible difference to the coastline, but also a chance for Britcon to further its commitment to corporate social responsibility and community engagement. The company is currently delivering three projects in the local area, including work with Redcar and Cleveland College and Outwood Academy Bishopsgarth, making this initiative especially meaningful.
