Britcon is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the Great Driffield Girls Football Team.
The team was formed last year as an Under-11s squad following the girls’ participation in the Weetabix Wildcats event. This initiative, organised by England Football, aims to give girls the opportunity to gain experience and confidence in the sport.
The girls enjoyed a brilliant first season, finishing mid-table and celebrating a tournament win.
Building on this success, the club made the decision to retain a group of players at Under-11 level and progress them to Under-13s. This move has helped widen the age range and create more opportunities for local girls to get involved in football.
The Under-13s are now competing in League Two of the City of York Girls Football League and are performing strongly, currently sitting second in the table.
We are excited to support the team throughout the upcoming season and wish them continued success on and off the pitch.
