£4.7m All Access Academy for Redcar & Cleveland College
We are proud to be the principal contractor for the design and construction of the All Access Academy at Redcar and Cleveland College. This contract is our seventh project for the Education Training Collective, following the successful delivery of projects at Stockton Riverside College, Redcar & Cleveland College, and Bede Sixth Form College.
The new training facility located on Corporation Road provides modern working zones, meeting, storage and changing areas for students and instructors. Rigorous planning was undertaken to ensure safe working within a busy college environment, adjacent a live rail track. The project will welcome new students in Summer 2025 and was negotiated using the Procure Partnership framework.
Redcar and Cleveland College are a key beneficiary of the Levelling Up Partnership Fund, which has enabled this significant development. The build and expansion aim to address skills gaps by creating greater local opportunities for training in areas including scaffolding, rope access, rigging and lifting, and welding. The project incorporates a number of sustainable features to reduce its carbon footprint including roof mounted photovoltaic panels and an air source heat pump.
Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen emphasised the project’s importance:
“Thanks to developments like Teesworks, Redcar and Cleveland are at the forefront of creating new jobs. The All Access Academy will ensure local people have the skills needed to access these opportunities, fostering long-term prosperity across the region.”
“This facility will deliver the training of skills that are in huge demand, not just here in the Tees Valley but across the UK,” said the college’s executive principal, Jason Faulkner.
Britcon are delighted to be leading the construction of a project that will have a major impact in developing skills to support well paid sustainable jobs locally.
This is our second significant project on the campus after completing the Clean Energy Education Hub, a state-of-the-art facility to train people to work in the green energy sector.
