Works Scope
Our framework partnership with DB Cargo (UK) gave Britcon the opportunity to design and build a new, purpose-built car terminal at the Toton sidings, Nottingham.
The works consisted of constructing a new 17,000m2 permeable paved car park and associated security works, which fulfilled the specification requirements of the UK Border Control Agency.
Working alongside the permanent-trackway rail contractor and the operational DB Cargo teams, the project was collaboratively managed and completed over a 20 week build programme.
Throughout the construction phase, Britcon introduced new and emerging technology with the use of intelligent excavators and earthmoving equipment to engineer the new car park ground levels.
How we successfully delivered the project
Being appointed Principal Contractor on the project gave our operational management team the opportunity to apply our ‘Project Custodians’ and ‘Britcon Way’ principles to an extremely high standard. The project was delivered safely, ahead of time and on budget.
Engagement in the detailed design phase with our internal and external teams provided an expert solution and successful outcome for this project.
