Tropical World was regenerated as part of Leeds City council Parks and Leisure ground redevelopment in the Leeds area. The park has exceeded expectations when it came to financial benefits and footfall within just the first few months of opening Tropical Park. This project was procured through the YORbuild framework.

Britcon were responsible for the construction of a brand new toilet block and extension to the existing cafĚŠe being part of a full upgrade all together worth £1.5m. The work was original phased to complete the toilets first however Britcon's operations team suggested a change to the programme which not only meant the work could be done as one however also saving the Council time on their programme.

We faced many challenges during build including working in a live constrained environment as well as ensuring the safety of the public at all times.

In addition, we had restricted access to site with no vehicle access, all materials had to either be brought in by hand or the logistics of organising a crane within the live environment had to be arranged.
